It’s such a personal choice. I’ve no issue with kombucha- but those non-alcoholic liquor substitutes like Seedlip are definitely triggering to me. I was at a bar with fancy mocktails and I found that it was a little upsetting to me to drink a fake gin and tonic (my favorite drink back before I was sober)

For me, what was triggering wasn’t the content of the drink, but the context. The associations are where I struggle. I associate kombucha with sober parties, my health-conscious hippie friends and yoga. All good things 😌. Drinking a fake G&T at a bar? Only bad things.
