I really don't care for Musk as a person, but this portrayal of him as a rich kid has got to stop. It's untrue, he actually is self-made and his family lives off of his money. He left an abusive home in S. Africa when he was 17 and hustled and paid his own way through college, racking up significant debt. His windfall for creating PayPal really allowed him a lot of freedom, but he did it all with a lot of hard work and zero support. There are a lot of false claims out there about his family, like they own gem mines, but it's all BS and a little digging reveals that quite easily.
